The articles we read and discussed in class today were very interesting to me as a future teacher. I would like to incorporate technology into my future classroom and even student teaching next semester. The article that I was assigned made a good point that teachers need to not only be able to use the technology but also need to be able to implement it into their classroom with students. It is really no good to the teacher to only be able to work the technology, not teach with it.
Another article that I found interesting was the article dealing with early childhood education and technology. It makes a lot of sense that a child must still work on handwriting, coloring, cutting using scissors, and using glue to work on fine motor skills. A child may be growing up in a technological age, but that does not mean that the teacher can ignore simple skills the child must learn without technology.
I think the articles all made the point that teaching using technology has both positives and negatives. The negatives cannot stop students from using the technology in their classroom though like we discussed. Some teachers and administers may feel that students can get off track with technology, but I strongly believe that this could happen during any lesson, and the teacher must monitor any activity or lesson that the students are participating in.

The Solar System
Hello 2nd Graders!
Directions: For this blog, you must be sure to
complete STEP 1 & STEP 2.
Step 1:
As you know, we are studying the solar system in class. I would like every student to go outside tonight, Wednesday (with a parent or older sibling) before bed and look at the moon, stars and the entire night sky. After you view the night sky, I would like you to use this blog and post your answers by Thursday night.
Answer the questions below in full sentences and use proper spelling and grammar.
1. Was it a clear night outside? Were you able to see the stars and the moon?
2. Describe what you noticed while looking at the sky?
3. Compare and contrast the sky during the day versus the night?
Step 2:
After you answered all the questions on your blog, I would like you to watch the following video clip. It is a clip from the show The Magic School Bus and it is all about the solar system. We are going to read the story in class on Friday, and I want you all to be very excited. Please do the following:
1.Watch the video:
